After years of incredible journeys on my beloved Harley Street Bob, I recently made the leap to the 2022 Harley Road Glide, and boy, has it been a game-changer. First things first, my Harley Street Bob. This bike has been my faithful companion for quite some time, and we’ve shared countless memories together. With over 50,000 kilometers of road under our wheels, it’s safe to say that the Street Bob is no slouch when it comes to long-haul adventures. Its stripped-down, minimalist design gave it a distinct look, and the raw power of its engine never failed to put a grin on my face. It handled curves like a dream and had that unmistakable Harley-Davidson rumble that I couldn’t get enough of.
But as much as I loved my Street Bob, the allure of the 2022 Harley Road Glide was impossible to resist. This touring machine is tailor-made for riders like me who crave those long road trips. Let’s talk about some of the features that make it stand out.

It’s a relief not to worry about lugging around extra bags or compromising on what to bring. With the Street Bob, I often found myself strapping bags to the back of the bike or contemplating installing a sissy bar just to ensure I didn’t lose any essentials during the journey. Now, the Road Glide’s ample storage capacity means I can pack everything I need without any second thoughts. It’s a welcome change that adds to the overall convenience and enjoyment of my long rides, allowing me to focus on the adventure itself rather than logistics.
3. Size Matters: The Road Glide’s larger size offers a more comfortable riding position, which is a blessing on those marathon rides. Being 6’5″, I’ve always had to wrestle with cramped legroom on the Street Bob, and don’t get me started on the ape hangers I had to install just to fit my long limbs comfortably. The Road Glide, with its spacious ergonomics, finally lets me stretch out and ride in a position that doesn’t feel like I’m folded up like a pocket knife. The adjustable windscreen provides superb wind protection, and the larger seats make those long hours in the saddle feel like a breeze, allowing me to focus on the pure joy of the ride itself (that said I may need to upgrade my cushion to something a little more comfy then the stock). It’s a game-changer for tall riders like me, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to make the switch.
