installing Graphics on Your Dirt Bike

Its Easy!

a step-by-step guide

Hey riders, it’s Kari in the house, and today I’m super excited to share a guide that’ll take your dirt bike aesthetics to the next level! We’re talking about installing graphics – a fun and creative way to make your ride uniquely yours. So, grab your gear, let’s get down and dirty, and transform that dirt bike into a rolling work of art!

Step 1: Out with the Old, In with the New

The journey begins by saying goodbye to the old graphics. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to refresh your bike’s canvas. Use sandpaper and a scraper to eliminate any divots or loose plastic. Cleanse the surface thoroughly with contact cleaner. Alternatively, if you’re feeling extra bold, opt for new plastics. Just remember to remove the clear coat with contact cleaner for optimal adhesion.

Step 2: Pre-Fit and Line Up for Success

Precision is key! Lay out your graphics and pre-fit them onto their designated plastics. Here’s a hint: start with the easiest pieces first. Think flat surfaces with minimal grooves. This will make your life easier and ensure a seamless application process.

Step 3: Sculpting Perfection with an Exacto Knife

Time to get artsy! Take your Exacto knife and cut a strip in the center of the graphic where it needs to conform to the plastic’s contour. Press it onto the plastic and work your way out. To make life even smoother, give the graphic a little heat to enhance its flexibility. If you’re in a cooler environment, warm up the plastic a bit too for better adhesion.

Step 4: Seal the Deal with Heat

Once you’re satisfied with the placement, it’s time to secure the bond. Apply heat to the edges of the graphic and the entire surface (80°F is my proffered setting, to hot and the graphics warp). This final touch ensures total adhesion to the plastic, making your graphics ready to withstand the toughest rides.

Step 5: Go Ride in Style!

Congratulations, you’ve just transformed your dirt bike into a personalized masterpiece! Now, it’s time to hit the trails and showcase your unique style. Enjoy the attention and the envy of fellow riders as you tear up the dirt with a bike that’s as stylish as it is fast.

So there you have it, riders – a step-by-step guide to graphics installation that’ll have you standing out on the track. Go ahead, get creative, and let your dirt bike become an extension of your personality. Until next time, keep the rubber side down and the graphics side up!
